ANIMATED WWII MAP 1941-1942!!!!!!!

Before the Second World War Germany was in a state of dissaray. Adolf Hitler came to power and promised the people power and wealth. Although he promised these people these things he did not tell all his intentions. In October 1936, Italy, Germany, and Japan signed an alliance called the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis alliance. Hitler's intentions was to start a war, a war that would end in Germany conquering much of Europe. The people do not know this, only few people knew of his real intentions, his high ranking officials. In March 1938 Hitler expanded his territories by entering Austria and attaching the land to Germany. He then in August 1938 he seized an area of Czechoslovakia and occupied Prague (Doswell, 16). This was forbidden by the Versailles Treaty which was established after the First World War to stop any threat from Germany again.

Now with more land attached onto Germany he could wage his war. Hitler prepares an assault into Poland while Britian, France, and the Soviet Union have discussions for an alliance. Hitler realizes that in order to win a war he cannot fight off Britian, France, and the Soviet Union from all sides. In a surprise treaty Hitler signs a peace treaty with their hated rivals the Soviet Union. This allows for Hitler to fight against fewer countries while not having to worry about the Soviet Union's involvement. Hitler did not plan on keeping this treaty, only when he had finished off one or both of the countries he would turn to face Soviet Union.

On September 1st, 1939 Germany invaded Poland. Using their Blitzkreig tactic or lightning attack (Doswell, 20). In only a few days the Polish army crumbled under the supierior German Forces. Poland was sending in Calvary to take out tanks and within a short amount of time they surrendured to Germany. On September 17th Soviet Union invaded Poland a part of the secret agreement that Germany had promised. France and Britian had heard enough in a short time they both waged war on Germany. This was the start of the Second World War.

After the rapid success in Poland, Hitler thought that Britian and France would surrender. Although Britian and France did not surrender and continued to fight. After a long winter which was called the Bore War because nothing happened. Germany started more Blitzkreig attacks on Norway and Denmark. Hitler wanted to take out Western Europe as quick as possible. On May 13 Hitler unleashed another Blitzkreig attack on France, trying to take out France for good from the war. France surrendered a week after Paris was taken for the Germans.

Now that they had knocked out France from the war Hitler could focus on his other plans. He could turn on the Soviet Union and attack them while they bombed Great Britian repeatedly. Hitler's plan was that he could repeatedly bomb Great Britian and keeping them at bay while focusing on Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union. On the morning of June 22nd, 1941 the Germans swarmed Russia on a mass Blitzkreig taking over hundred of thousands of land (Doswell, 26). Unforunately for Hitler Soviet Union held out for longer than expected. By the winter the Soviet Union had held on to slivers of land, but the Russian snow storms were able to hold back the Germans from advancing. And with the sheer numbers for the Russians they were able to drive back the Germans from most of their lands. After the brutal defeat at Stalingrad which was the turning point for the Soviet Union in the war.

During 1941, USA joined the war after a surprise attack from the Japanese laying waste to the naval base Pearl Harbor. Unforunately for Germany, the USA declared war on Japan and then on the rest of the axis powers. Fresh troops came in for the allied forces providing motivation and more trouble for Hitler. Stalingrad marked the turning point for Hitler, the Soviet Union troops poured using sheer numbers and strength (Doswell, 58). Crushing the starving and cold German forces. After 2 more years of fighting Hitler had been reduced signifantly from the Soviet Union. And

Germany's defeat was within a year, when the allied forces launched an all out attack on Normandy to take back the captured France. If they did this Germany would crumble with no where to go, the world was closing in around Hitler. On June, 1944 D-Day was launched spearheaded by the US, British, and the Canadians. After a brutal battle Germany's fortification fell to the allied forces. Slowly Hitler's forces started to wither. He had lost france by the end of the year along with the Italy who surrendured. Hitler's forces by the year of 1945 had been pushed back to their own country. In Berlin 1945 troops from all sides swarmed the German capitol and defeated Germany. Hitler in his last hours spent time in an underground bunker. He had aged at a rate no person would have ever, due to the immense stress that Hitler had been burdened with. He commited suicide and months later Japan finally surrendered after the first atomic bombs. World War II lasted from 1939-1945.
